Addictive
A magnificently large game deserves a magnificently large review, so that's what I'll do. (PS: How do you pronounce Grimoire?)
Concept:
Just like they said, it's a lot like those point and click games which I still see every now and then. To be honest I've never enjoyed those games at all. But this is an exception. It has actually made the point and click games exiting by adding a lot more than just randomly clicking your way until you find the only way to progress. This requires strategy, and let's you go in the direction you want.
Talking to people is even better, they must have put a lot of work into the script because it interests me every time. You'll have laughs, gasps, and suspense.
They've added so many different pieces to the concept, as well as pointing and clicking, sometimes you'll get to interrogate suspects by controlling Grimoire's eyes with the mouse. Also, you get a menu for clues, profiles, notes, and a map. Making the concept one of the games best features.
Sound:
Most of the game's speech is in text but you here a sigh or a laugh out of whoever is talking. And that little bit of voice acting isn't awesome really. But it doesn't matter because most of your attention will be on the well made script.
The music is great and really makes the whole experience multiple times better.
Graphics:
This IS the game's highlight. It is really good. The characters look so believable sometimes. The backgrounds are even better. With incredible detail, Fairground just looks so life like.
Storyline:
Do I even need to say it? IT'S AWSOME!
Detective Grimoire is the best flash game I have ever seen. Really. This is a masterpiece that can't be missed. The only setbacks were to small to even matter. This is what you call a game that succeeds on every conceivable level.
