Bad start for a series

I don't care that this first episode was too "short", something interesting just needs to happen, is all!

Art style's decent, so it's okay, but not okay by much.

BombSquad5 responds:

Ok thanks for the critique, i felt that way too after it was done.

I say no again

Excuse me, my original review--like a lot of reviews I write--offended a lot of you because of its low score. But to my discredit, I didn't go in-depth with my review, and therefore it was removed for being pointless. So let me start over. *ahem* This is a worthless piece of balls.

Because it's not funny.
Because it's not entertaining.
Because it's has no purpose whatsoever.
Because the "60 frames" gimmick is retarded.
Because half of them aren't even good-looking.
Because they have no sound of their own and the music choice was lazy.

I hope you all had fun making so much nothing.

Pretty good

This is decently funny, decently animated, and decently voiced. All that adequacy adds up to make a moderately good movie!

And wait... this doesn't make any sense to me. Did they use the same body from the retard? Or the same brain? Or... what? Because if someone gets their brain put into a different body, they should have all the same memories as before. I'm confused.

Besides, I know what Mr. Mackey SHOULD have told the doctor:
"You go to hell! You go to hell and you die!"

"Art" of the assholes

"Interpretive" art is about making something, but not explaining what it is, and letting the viewer try to figure it out.

But this is: make absolutely fucking nothing, but give it nice music and make it all dramatic and shit, and make it look like it's supposed to be taken seriously. I'm really fed up with this kind of stuff, especially on Newgrounds. The animator wasn't even trying when they made this piece of "art".

At first, I thought it was going to be pretentious as hell, but then it ended so quickly. So it's short as hell too. Anyone who thinks this makes some sort of statement or has some sort of meaning should know; they got cheated out of their sensibilities, big time.

The animation isn't that great either.

This one is lacking

Uhh, most of the Foamy rants are great, don't get me wrong. This one was just lame, though. Probably the worst I can remember. It's just the same thing said over and over and over again.

Awesome of awesome awesomeness

Alright so this flash is crappy, even for when it was released it wasn't anything too special... but at the same time, it gave me a grin so big it hurt. Clockwork and South Park are two of the best things in the world, and they worked amazingly well together. It by no means deserves a 10, but I just HAVE to do it anyway.

Hilarious

Lame animation, blah blah blah. Not really any effort put into the humor either. Just laughing for fifteen seconds isn't supposed to be funny.

PS: I'm still laughing

still laughing

Truly, the master of minds

Yes, awesome!

You--Mr. Swain--get comedy. You understand that it's a mere series of jokes that must be strung together to weave a basket of funny. You understand that doing what the audience didn't expect (or didn't have enough time to think of) is funny.
You also understand that the "evil villain who's actually goofy" routine has gotten REALLY old, so you've put so many brilliant spins on the tired joke. Making him actually be and act threatening, for one thing!

This one might not be as good as the fourth; mainly because it felt really short. But episode 5 is meant to be short, isn't it?

I've been a fan of yours all the way since... uh... *checks* Blockhead episode 9. Unfortunately, because of the series' shrinking consistency in new episodes, along with you doing less and less stuff I personally care about, I've been kinda pulling away from you. This definitely helped put you back on my personal map, though.

PS: Hey, you know who ELSE gets comedy? Michael SwaiM on Cracked.com. Yes, with an "m." Holy shit.

The-Swain responds:

Swaim did some review of things he hated I think, and mentions getting called "Swain" pretty often

55secs in 3hrs? Impressive I guess

Your animation is passable. You clearly are able to wrestle flash down and get it to do what you want. Obviously for something you made in 3 hours, it's pretty good. But no matter what the circumstances were; this movie is still real boring with no true humor. Maybe the faintest chuckle could come out of the 'which is shaped like a key' joke, and that would be pretty much it.

Up, over and gone

Moderately funny. Follows the usual game-parody-video formula of making fun of problem X in game Y. Which is fine, because it worked very well here. Although the "heartburn" joke got progressively less funny as it went on, not more. And in fact; I think you could have actually taken the "this is getting so complicated" joke about three times farther than you did, and it would have been that much more hilarious.

So lots of wasted potential, but lots of used... um... 'kinetic' as well.

What IS the word for opposite of potential, anyway?
